It's like how stressful moments show someone's real character, that raw edge you don't see in easy times. @the_avery has a point about flat light, but sometimes that absence of flattery shows the guts of a place.

Got a shot of an old brick warehouse last summer where the noon sun carved every crack and texture into something stark. It completely changed how I look for shapes in plain daylight now.
