My realtor talked me into buying a fixer upper. I thought she was nuts.
Back in March my agent kept pushing this old house in Leslieville that needed a new roof and had knob and tube wiring. I figured I'd be broke for years fixing it up. But she showed me the sold prices of similar flipped places on the same street, and the math actually worked out. Six months later I'm almost done with the Reno and an appraiser just said it's worth $120k more than I paid. Has anyone else had a realtor steer them toward a fixer upper that actually paid off?
