Just realized my Oculus Quest 2 loses 40% battery in 90 minutes on VRChat versus 150 minutes on Beat Saber
I've been logging my Oculus Quest 2 battery usage for weeks and noticed a consistent pattern. In VRChat, the battery drops from 100% to 60% in just 90 minutes, while in Beat Saber, it lasts over 150 minutes for the same drain. Some friends argue that social apps like VRChat are inherently more demanding due to real-time avatar rendering and network data. Others think it's poor optimization from the developers, citing how AltspaceVR runs smoother on the same hardware. After experimenting, I figured out that disabling dynamic shadows and limiting avatar downloads extends battery life by 25%. I used a 10000mAh power bank clipped to my headstrap, and now I can socialize for HOURS without anxiety. Has anyone else tried similar tweaks, or is there a better method? I'm curious where the community stands on balancing performance versus longevity in social VR worlds.

My avatar's anxiety probably drains the battery too.

How are you clipping the power bank to your headstrap? I had the exact same battery drain in VRChat, it's brutal lol.
