inThe day Dave engraved his nickname on a customer's aerospace bracket
Man, that beats the time I forgot to remove the test engraving by a mile.

inEveryone raves about augers for post holes, but I still prefer a trusty spade and sweat.
Found that to be totally true when I was trying to transplant some overgrown lavender last year. The narrow blade on a spade cuts through roots way cleaner than my regular shovel. I could actually feel where the big roots were and work around them without hacking everything to pieces. It just gives you more precision, like using a chef's knife instead of a cleaver. Ended up saving most of the plant because I wasn't just tearing through the dirt blind.

inHad a property manager hint that we should delay a safety upgrade to avoid tenant complaints... felt like crossing a line I didn't want to.
Delaying safety stuff feels like the actual line being crossed. Why would anyone think that's okay?

inQuestion about using photography to spot work mistakes
That part about a hobby tuning up your job skills is so true. I've had that happen with other stuff too. It's cool how focusing on one thing can sharpen your eye for everything else.

inDealing with cheap power supplies reminds me how lazy builds have become
Yeah because nothing says smart like rolling the dice on a house fire. Those cheap units can literally toast your whole system when they go. Real smart choice lmao.
