Rant: My cat just used my new Winsor & Newton sable brush as a backscratcher.

Honestly, the 'ruined' texture creates a fantastic dry-brush effect, lol.

That's a kolinsky sable brush, not a synthetic. The damage is permanent.

Ugh, my friend learned this the hard way with a ruined Winsor & Newton. @ryanhill, the reality is you can't truly repair a splayed kolinsky tip; you can only try to reshape it with a gentle brush restorer and hope for the best, but the spring is never quite the same. It's basically a very expensive lesson in brush care.
