This lingering head cold is obliterating my ability to taste anything beyond 'sweet' or 'dry'

Honestly, I've been battling this head cold for a week, and my usual tasting notes are just sad scribbles now. Tbh, I poured a glass of a complex Pinot Noir last night and all I got was 'fruity' with no depth. Ngl, it's making me question my entire tasting journal until I recover fully.

Heard about my friend who thought his tea was just hot water?

Colds completely wreck your palate, it's the worst.

Last time I had a cold, my taste buds went on strike. Coffee tasted like lukewarm dishwater, and my favorite spicy ramen might as well have been plain noodles. I'm already a terrible cook, so this just amplifies my culinary disasters. At this point, I'd probably enjoy eating cardboard if my sinuses were clear. It's a special kind of torture for someone who can barely tell salt from sugar on a good day.
