I was sure this 'AI detector' tool was a scam until I tested it myself

A friend sent me a link to this free online checker called 'AI Content Detector Pro' last week. I rolled my eyes because I've seen so many of these fail. I decided to test it with a real piece of AI slop from a local news blog in my town, Springfield. The article was about a new park, but the writing felt off, like it was describing a generic park from a template. I copied the text into the tool, and it flagged 92% likely to be AI-generated. For comparison, I pasted in a paragraph from a human-written blog post I did about my garden. It scored only 8%. The tool highlighted specific phrases the AI kept repeating, like 'a verdant oasis' and 'community gathering space.' Seeing that breakdown, the patterns became super obvious. Has anyone else found a specific tool that actually helped them spot AI writing?

I used to think my home network was fine, but a weird Tuesday in March changed my mind

So last Tuesday, my smart lights started flickering on and off at 2 AM, and my internet just died for a few minutes. What was your pit temp during that whole stall? I've seen them hold on for dear life when the temp is too low, like stuck at 225. Did you check your thermometer for accuracy? A bad probe reading could make it seem like it's not moving when it actually is.
