Celebrating a small victory: my AI hobby project is actually useful now
I've been tinkering with a little AI program that helps sort my photos (you know, by who's in them). For the longest time, it would mix up my sister and my cousin, which was funny but not helpful. I kept tweaking the training data, bit by bit, over weeks and months. Then yesterday, it correctly tagged a whole batch from last summer's picnic. I almost didn't believe it at first (seriously, I checked three times). It's such a relief after all that waiting, and it feels like the code finally 'learned' what I wanted. Now I'm just happy it works, even if it's a small thing.
