Just realized AI image upscalers don't fix bad source photos
Spent like 3 hours trying to upscale a blurry photo from my phone and kept getting weird artifacts, finally dawned on me the AI can't invent detail that isn't there. Has anyone else hit this wall or found a way to work around it?

Gotta push back on this one a bit because good upscalers can actually pull off some pretty impressive stuff if you know how to use them. I've had decent results with low-res old family photos where the AI managed to reconstruct faces that were basically just pixel blobs, it's not magic but it's way better than people give it credit for. Just gotta match the right tool to the right type of image and mess with the settings until something clicks.

Oh yeah, I tried one on a blurry old group shot and was surprised how clear it got everyone's faces.
