Used AI to find furniture assembly instructions from a blurry photo
I was putting together a cheap bookshelf from a thrift store and the manual was completely smudged. Took a picture and ran it through an image-to-text AI tool I found online. It read enough of the faded numbers and arrows to match the part labels. Saved me from guessing and messing up the whole thing. Anyone else tried using AI for decoding old manuals or labels?

Wait, hold on. You used an AI tool to read a completely smudged manual from a blurry photo and it actually pulled out the part numbers and arrows? That's insane. I've thrown away so many old instruction sheets because they were too messed up to read. I thought AI was just for generating fake images or writing emails, not for decoding garbage paper. Honestly, that's way more useful than most of the stuff I see people using it for. I gotta try this next time I find a used table or chair without a clear guide.

Yeah that "more useful than most of the stuff I see people using it for" thing really hit home. I saw a vid where a guy used AI to translate a faded 70s car repair manual and it worked way better than I expected.
