That feedback about my AI summaries made me scrap the whole format
I used to write weekly recaps of model releases for our team, heavy on specs and benchmarks, until my manager said nobody could tell what actually mattered. He told me to imagine explaining it to my dad over coffee, so now I lead with the real-world use case and drop the jargon. Anyone else get feedback that forced them to totally rework how they present AI news?

I read a write-up in The Verge last week about how everyone's getting buried in AI benchmark numbers, and it basically said the same thing your manager did. Like, nobody cares that a model scores 82 on MMLU if they can't picture what that means for their Tuesday afternoon. One of the writers compared it to car ads that list horsepower but never mention the car has a tiny trunk, you know? I think the test now is if you can explain a model's update in one sentence without using the words "parameter" or "fine-tuned," you're on the right track. Your coffee-with-dad idea is way better than my old habit of just copying the release notes into a Slack message.
