Just learned my air fryer uses way less oil than I thought for crispy fries
I was reading the manual for my new air fryer and it said you only need about a tablespoon of oil for a full basket of fries. That blew my mind because I usually dump in like a quarter cup when I use the oven. I found it on page 12 of the instruction booklet, of all places. Has anyone else noticed a big difference in how much oil they use compared to a regular oven?

The real game changer for me was finding out you can reuse the oil that drips down into the bottom... I just strain it through a coffee filter and it's good for another batch or two. Saves money and cuts down on waste way more than just using less oil in the oven where it all soaks into the pan liner. Plus the air fryer gets that crunchy outside without needing to flip halfway, at least with my model. Never would have thought to recycle cooking oil like that before reading the fine print.

Does a tablespoon actually coat everything evenly or do you have to toss them halfway through to get that crisp?
