My mom's air fryer comment made me rethink my whole approach

Last Sunday my mom watched me shake the basket for the third time and said 'you're fussing over it like it's a baby.' She was right, I was checking every 2 minutes and flipping things constantly. She just sets her timer and walks away, and her chicken comes out perfect every time. Has anyone else found that being too hands-on actually messes up your results?
