That week I tried air frying frozen chicken breasts without oil... big mistake
I always see people saying you don't need oil in an air fryer for frozen stuff, but I learned the hard way last Tuesday. My three chicken breasts came out like leather hockey pucks, totally dry and chewy. I spritzed them with a little avocado oil on Thursday and they were completely different, juicy and tender. Has anyone else had better luck skipping the oil on certain things?

Yeah, @abby_henderson, patting them dry is the real secret weapon there.

Oh man, I'm gonna totally disagree with you here! I've been air frying frozen chicken breasts for months without any oil and they come out perfect every time, tender and juicy. The trick is to pull them out halfway through, flip them, and pat them dry with a paper towel to get rid of any ice crystals or extra moisture that steams them instead of crisping them up. I think the dry heat just cooks them slower and better, y'know, as long as your air fryer isn't a tiny one that crowds everything together.
