Hot take: The hangar at KMWH is way overhyped for maintenance space
I drove up to Grant County International last month to help a buddy with an engine swap on his Cessna. Everyone talks about how massive those old military hangars are and how perfect they are for heavy work. But honestly it was a pain. The lighting is terrible in the corners and the concrete is cracked to hell making it hard to roll jacks around. We ended up doing half the work outside on the ramp. Am I the only one who thinks that facility is more trouble than it's worth?

Yeah the "massive hangars" thing didn't match up with reality for me either. I'd rather have solid lights and smooth floors than just a ton of empty space.

Yeah that lighting issue is REAL bad. We were trying to see inside a cowling and basically had to use our phone flashlights. The cracked concrete is no joke either, nearly dumped a tool cart trying to get it across the floor. Great for staring at from the outside, not so great for actually working in.
