Tried safety wire pliers on 40 screws vs doing it by hand and I know which one I'm keeping
Had a panel on a King Air in Tulsa with 40 screws that all needed safety wire, so I figured I'd finally give the pliers a fair shot instead of doing it the old way. The pliers twisted way too tight on the first few and snapped the wire, so I backed off and just did them by hand with my fingers like always. Took me about 20 minutes total and not one failure, while the tool wrecked 6 wires before I gave up on it. Maybe I'm holding the thing wrong, but a $60 tool losing to my bare hands is pretty funny. Anybody out there actually swear by these things, or did you all toss yours in the bottom drawer too?
