Appreciation post: the fire code in my city changed and it's a huge headache

I just read the new building code update for Phoenix, and they now require a dedicated circuit for any alarm panel in a new build, no more sharing with lights. Found it buried in a city PDF last week. That adds at least an hour and extra wire to every new house job. Anyone else dealing with this kind of local rule change?

Ugh, it feels like everything has a hidden fee these days. The drip pricing model has just bled into normal life.
