Serious question, clients who rearrange sensors mid-install

I was putting in a system at a house yesterday. The owner kept moving the motion detectors to spots that looked better to them. This messed up the coverage and caused false triggers during testing. I had to reposition everything after they left. It's frustrating when aesthetics override function.

Ugh, that's the worst. I started showing clients a live feed of the coverage map on my tablet so they can see the dead zones. Usually shuts down the interior decorator mode pretty fast.

Ever read that article about how bad signal actually stresses people out? Showing the dead zones is smart, it makes the problem real for them like claire64 said about the paint colors. You're basically giving them proof instead of just arguing.
