Spent four hours chasing a ground fault that was a wire nut

Did a residential rewire in Tulsa last week, and the panel kept showing a ground fault on zone 3. I checked every sensor, swapped the panel, even tried a new transformer. Turned out a wire nut in the attic was barely holding two wires together, and the loose connection was pulling intermittent resistance. Re-crimped it and the fault cleared in ten minutes. How do you guys track down phantom faults without pulling your hair out?

Man, that's the worst. Those gremlins hide in plain sight.

Wait, aren't those just regular bugs doing bug things?
