Walked into a new build yesterday and the drywall guys buried half the pre-wire zones
I was at a 4,200 square foot custom build out in Maple Ridge checking on the rough-in, and whoever ran the drywall crew just mudded right over the garage door sensor and two window contacts. Now I gotta cut into fresh paint and figure out if the wires are even still there. Anyone else deal with contractors who have zero respect for a marked zone?

Done that exact same thing with a stud finder and a knife man. I had a house where the trim crew nailed a baseboard right through the low voltage cable for the thermostat. Just drove a 2 inch finish nail straight through it like it was nothing. Spent an hour with the wire toner trying to find where the signal died and found the nail head barely sticking out. Pulled it with a claw hammer but the wire was already crushed inside the wall. Had to cut open the drywall anyway and splice in a new run. Some contractors just don't get that wires can't grow back like drywall mud can.

You ever get that feeling where you just wanna grab the drywall guys by the collar and drag them over to the marked spots? I had a job last year where they buried four outlet boxes behind the sheetrock. Four. They just went right over the blueprints taped to the studs. Spent a whole Saturday with a stud finder and a utility knife trying to find them again. Ended up having to patch three of them because the wires got pinched short.
