Shoutout to the adobe walls I painted in 2019, they still look like yesterday
After the monsoon in July I noticed the old coat was cracking near the roofline, so I repainted with a elastomeric product and now six years of sun and rain look like they never even happened, anyone else find that switching paint types made that much difference?
Boy howdy does it ever. I read a thing from a paint guy in Arizona who said the sun out here just bakes the water based stuff and it goes chalky in two or three years. He said the rubbery kind flexes with the heat instead of fighting it, so it does not crack at the edges. My brother in law had the same luck on his stucco, going on eight years now and it still beads up when it rains.
