Dub vs sub mid-series switch made me rewatch 40 episodes

Tbh I started One Piece on the dub when I was in high school, got to episode 300ish, then heard the sub version had way better emotional depth. So I switched and went back to rewatch from the beginning, but it took me like 6 months to finish those 40 episodes again. Honestly the subtitles made me notice jokes and moments I totally missed in the dub, but I also felt like some comedic timing landed better in English. Now I'm torn on which one I actually prefer for new season drops. Has anyone else done a mid-series swap this late into a long show, and did you stick with it or go back?
