Heard a kid at the bus stop say something about Naruto that hit different

I was waiting for my coffee this morning and this kid maybe 13 tells his friend 'Sasuke was right all along.' It made me stop and think about how I used to root for Naruto without really questioning the whole system he was fighting for. The village treated him like trash but he still wanted to be their leader. That's not noble that's kind of messed up when you think about it. Has anyone else had a show flip on them like that after hearing someone else's take?

Brooooo @robin489 nailed it with that frozen pizza crust comparison lol. It's wild how we just accept the hero's journey without asking who built the system in the first place. Like imagine getting bullied your whole childhood then being like "yeah I wanna lead these same people." Sasuke was out here asking the real questions and we were all just calling him emo.

Man that bus stop wisdom hit you like a rock huh. Same thing happened to me when a kid at my nephew's birthday party explained why Bakugo from My Hero Academia is actually a well written character and not just a jerk. Made me realize I've been watching shonen anime for years with my brain on autopilot like a goldfish. Seriously though the whole "Sasuke was right" thing is one of those takes that makes you question if you were just rooting for the underdog without really thinking about the village's messed up history. It's like finding out your favorite pizza place uses frozen crusts but you still keep eating there because it tastes good.
