I watched the first 3 episodes of both 'Frieren' and 'Bocchi the Rock' last season

Everyone was saying Frieren was the masterpiece and Bocchi was just a fun side show. I mean, I get the hype for Frieren, it's beautiful and deep. But I ended up sticking with Bocchi because the awkward humor and the music just clicked with me way more. It felt more real, idk. Has anyone else gone against the grain on a seasonal pick like that?

Totally get that (picking the underdog show, I mean). I had the same thing happen with a different season, where everyone was losing their minds over a big fantasy drama. I gave it a fair shot, but the show I actually finished was this quiet little show about a guy fixing clocks. It just had a calm vibe the big one was missing, and I looked forward to it every week way more. Sometimes the popular pick just doesn't have the specific thing that hooks you personally.
