Why I stopped hating on dubs after visiting a convention in Austin

I went to Anime Expo last weekend in Austin just to check it out. Walked into a panel where they played a clip from the English dub of Spy x Family and the crowd laughed at all the right moments. Then the voice actors talked about how they adjust jokes to fit American humor without losing the story. Made me realize dubbing isn't just a cheap copy, it's its own kind of art. Has anyone else changed their mind after seeing a dub panel in person?

Honestly same, I used to think people were just being dramatic about dubs lol. But that panel was rough, like genuinely hard to sit through. I get it now.
