Appreciation post: I swapped my old multimeter for a Fluke 117 and the difference on a tricky fridge compressor call was night and day.

The auto-ranging and true RMS on the Fluke gave me a stable 23.4 amp reading in under ten seconds, while my old meter just flickered all over the place, so what's your go-to tool for diagnosing those intermittent electrical gremlins?

Honestly, my old meter never lets me down.

Man, that reminds me of the time my cheap meter lied to me about a good capacitor.

Saw my buddy spend an hour trying to figure out a dead power supply. His cheap meter showed the big filter cap was fine, but it was totally dead. He only found out after he swapped in a known good one from another unit. Felt bad for him, all that time wasted.
