Our neighborhood diner's ice maker started churning out cubes shaped like little stars

Found a kid's toy jammed in the mold, and now the owner won't fix it because the regulars love it, haha.

lol I saw something like this online a while back, where someone was selling custom shaped ice cube molds. Funny that it happened by accident at your diner, but now it's a whole thing.

Calling it a "whole thing" seems like a stretch to me. Ice cube molds are just fun little toys, not something worth all this attention. They melt so fast that the shape doesn't even matter after a minute. It's like that time everyone got obsessed with fancy napkin folds, and then forgot about it. This feels like another short lived trend that people will move on from. I guess I just don't get why something so small becomes such a big deal!

Wait, the owner knows there's a toy stuck in there and just leaves it? That's a health code thing, isn't it? A plastic toy melting in the water line for who knows how long. I'd be worried about what else is floating around in that machine.
