Spent 3 hours on a dryer that just needed a $5 part

Got a call last Tuesday for a dryer that wouldn't heat. Checked the thermal fuse, the heating element, the thermostat. Everything looked fine on the multimeter. Turns out it was a bad connection at the terminal block inside the wall outlet. Three hours of my afternoon gone for a loose wire I could have spotted in 10 minutes if I had just checked power at the plug first. Anyone else wasted a whole morning on something that basic?

Man I feel your pain. Did a fridge repair last month that took forever only to find out it was just a dirty condenser coil under the unit. Three hours of my Saturday gone for a part that cost zero dollars. Those simple fixes always sneak up on you when you're overthinking everything else.
