Fought to save every tree until a storm dropped one on a client's house.

I used to argue against removing any healthy tree, no matter the risk. Last year, a big pine I said was fine fell during a windstorm and crushed a garage. The cleanup and insurance mess took weeks. Now I'm much more careful about checking weak limbs and root problems, even if it means cutting down a tree that looks okay.

Yeah, I learned that lesson the hard way with that garage. Craig.tyler has a point about the benefits, but my old stubbornness cost someone a roof.

Honestly saw a study where mature trees raised property values by like 15 percent. That's a pretty big deal compared to just cutting them all down. Tbh it's about finding a balance instead of going to extremes.

Removing trees just for looking risky seems like an overcorrection. Their long-term benefits often outweigh the rare chance of damage.
