Shoutout to the guy who taught me the wet towel trick on a tricky stair job

Oh, good call... I always forget my hair dryer exists for anything but my hair.

Found a cheap way to keep my clipper blades from getting too hot, just wrap them in a cold wet towel for a minute between clients

Oh nice, that's actually pretty smart. I usually just spray them with coolant but that runs out fast. A wet towel would be way cheaper, you could even keep a couple in a small cooler. Gotta make sure it's just damp though, too much water might not be great for the blades long term.

I posted a meme about a current event in a private group and it got flagged instantly

Notice how this idea keeps popping up everywhere now, from social media to the news. It starts with stopping obvious lies, which seems good, but then the line for what counts as harmful keeps moving. Soon, people in charge are filtering out whole topics just for being messy or complicated. We end up with a safe, simple story instead of the real, difficult world. That scares me way more than reading a wild claim and having to think it through myself.

Went to a comic shop in Cleveland and the owner had a whole display case just for variant cover flippers.

Remember when people just collected things because they liked them? My uncle had a whole wall of old beer cans, not because they were worth money, but because he thought the designs were neat. That kind of simple joy feels pretty rare now. Everything has to be graded, flipped, and treated like an investment. Makes you wonder what the point of a hobby even is anymore if it's just about the money, right?

Shoutout to the crew that finally got the bullfloat timing right

My buddy learned this the hard way last fall. He rushed his backyard patio and power-troweled too early, got it glassy smooth. First rain, it was like an ice rink. His kid took a nasty spill just walking across it. @milar46 is totally right about that gritty texture being safer. Now he has to add those anti-slip strips, which look kinda bad.
