Old timer told me to stop bracing so fast, took me a week to get it
Had a guy in his 70s watching me brace a split maple in Denton and he said I was killing the tree with all that tension. He had me loosen everything off and let the tree settle for 3 days before retightening, and the split actually closed up tighter than my first attempt. Anyone else ever been told to slow down on bracing and seen better results?
