Switched from a pole saw to a Silky hand saw on a white oak removal and the cleanup time got cut in half
Did a removal last month on a big white oak in a backyard and the homeowner would not let us bring the bucket truck through the gate. So we had to climb it and take it down in chunks. I usually grab the pole saw for anything I can reach from the ground or a short ladder, but my ground guy talked me into using the Silky Sugoi on the limbs this time. I figured it would be slower, but that thing cut through 4 inch oak limbs in maybe 8 or 10 strokes each. The pole saw always leaves those jagged cuts and I end up going back with a handsaw anyway to clean them up. This time I skipped that whole step and we chipped everything straight into the truck. Two of us finished the tree and left the property clean in about 5 hours, which is usually a full day job for that size. Has anyone else ditched the pole saw for legit removals or do you still keep it on the truck for the sketchy high stuff?
