Tried a hand saw for crown reduction, my crew laughed until they saw the time

We had a tight oak job in Austin last Tuesday, back yard with a fence so close I couldn't swing a chainsaw proper. Boss said use the pole saw but I grabbed a 12 inch folding hand saw on a whim. Took me 20 minutes longer on that one limb but zero cleanup of limbs dropping on the fence. Crew gave me crap at lunch until they saw I didnt have to drag the chipper over. Anyone else use manual saws more than they admit on tight spots?
