That Netflix doc about the "lost" pyramid got the story backwards

I was watching a show last week with my brother in law and they kept pushing this idea that the Bent Pyramid was a failed experiment. Everyone in the comments eats that up. But I read a paper a few months back that said the angle change was probably intentional, tied to cult rituals or structural reasons we just dont fully get yet. The doc made it sound like the ancient builders messed up and moved on. I think we do them a disservice by always assuming our way is the right way. Anyone else think the "failure" narrative is too lazy?

Knew you were gonna get pushback on this, but honestly the doc had me nodding along too until I saw that paper about the Giza plateau and how the angle shifts match up with other temple alignments. My brother in law and I literally paused the show to Google it and found the whole "failed pyramid" theory gets tossed around mostly because it makes for better TV. The builders clearly knew what they were doing with the casing stones anyway, those things are cut to within a millimeter. If it was a screw up, why go through all that extra effort to finish it so perfectly? Watching that doc made me feel like a sucker for buying the lazy story at first, and I'm glad someone else is calling it out.
