A stranger at the DMV gave me life advice during my number wait

Last Tuesday I was stuck at the DMV in Austin for a solid 2 hours, and this older guy next to me starts talking about how he's been married 38 years. He said the secret is 'never argue about trash bags, just buy the ones with handles.' I laughed so hard I almost missed my number being called. He then showed me a photo of his wife on his cracked phone and said they met at a laundromat in 1986. Has anyone else gotten weirdly solid advice from a random person in a boring waiting room?

Bet that guy figured out the real hack is just picking your battles anywhere, not just at home. Some of the best life lessons come from people you'll never see again, kinda makes you want to actually talk to strangers more.
