Debate: Should you use a pay period trick or just stick with a budget app?
I found that splitting my paycheck into two accounts (bills and spending) on payday actually stopped me from overspending. I tried it for 3 months after my buddy in Austin swore by it. But now I'm wondering if that's just a crutch compared to using YNAB or Mint to track every dollar. What's your take? Has anyone else gotten better results with a simple hack over an app?

Yo that split account method is legit, way simpler than obsessing over every single transaction in an app. I did the same thing for like a year and it worked way better than any budget tracker I tried.

Started doing that after I realized I was spending more time logging expenses than actually saving money. Found a couple no-fee checking accounts at a credit union and labeled them for rent, groceries, and fun money. Made life way less stressful honestly and I still had a little buffer left at the end of most months.
