Lost a whole Saturday to a library rabbit hole, no regrets
Last weekend I went to the downtown branch to return one book and ended up in the local history room for 5 hours. Found a 1927 city directory listing my great-grandpa's bakery, which I never knew existed, and then tracked his address to the exact block. Has anyone else stumbled on family stuff by accident like that, or am I just a weirdo with too much time?
Tbh I think we all have those moments where the past just sneaks up on us when we least expect it. It's like the universe drops these little breadcrumbs in random places, old books, dusty corners, and just waits for us to be bored enough to look. You're not a weirdo, you're just paying attention to the stuff most people walk right past.
