Spent 6 hours chasing a DNS issue that was a dot in the wrong spot
I was setting up a subdomain for a client site in Austin and kept getting timeouts. Turns out I typed the CNAME with a period at the end, which is apparently fine for some hosts but not for this one. Why does every provider handle trailing dots differently, and has anyone else burned an entire afternoon on something this dumb?
