Warning: that moment I trusted the warehouse elevator override button
I was at the distribution center in Tulsa last Tuesday loading pallets onto the top shelf and hit the override to speed things up, but the safety brake kicked in halfway and pinned the load sideways, leaving me stuck for 20 minutes while maintenance had to manually release it, has anyone else dealt with a jammed elevator override in a pinch?

Man, that "safety brake kicked in halfway" situation sounds like a nightmare, I've been there with a jammed override at a warehouse in Ohio last fall. It locked the carriage up so tight we had to call in a tech who spent like an hour with a crowbar and a hydraulic jack to get it free. I mean, these overrides are supposed to help but they always end up making things worse when the safety failsafes go haywire.

Yeah the "jammed override" thing, that's not really a safety brake issue. Those overrides are usually mechanical locks, not failsafes kicking in. Just a different problem altogether.
