I finally figured out why my old lawyer never returned emails after 2016

Back around 2015 I hired a real estate attorney in Portland to handle a closing. He was great, always got back to me within a few hours by email. Then around 2017 I needed him again for a title issue and suddenly it was like he vanished. No reply for a week, then two. I called his office and his paralegal said he only does phone calls now. Turns out he got sued by a client over something he wrote in an email, and after that he switched everything to phone and paper. I get it, you can't take back an email once it's sent. But man, waiting on hold for 20 minutes to ask a simple question feels like going backwards. Anyone else had an attorney just drop email cold turkey like that?
