Just realized a weighted lap pad does more for my focus than any app

I bought a 5 pound weighted lap pad from a local sewing shop in Denver last Tuesday, mostly as a joke because my therapist suggested it. I put it on during a work call and honestly, my leg bouncing stopped and I sat through the whole 40 minutes without zoning out once. I've tried noise canceling headphones, fidget toys, even those focus timers, but this simple thing gave me a calm I didn't expect. It's like the pressure gives my brain a clear signal that I'm sitting here now, nothing else. I'm wondering if anyone else uses deep pressure for task focus, or if I just got lucky with this one brand. Has anyone tried a heavier or lighter weight and noticed a big difference?

Grabbed one of those weighted blankets they sell for people with anxiety, the 12 pound lap size, and it works the same way for me. I keep it on the couch and bust it out whenever I need to get through a long reading session or a boring spreadsheet. The 5 pound one felt too light for my taste, but heavier might be worth a shot if you want more of that grounding feeling.
