My grocery store meltdown over fluorescent lights changed my whole routine

Two months ago at the Publix on Main Street, I had a full shutdown standing in the cereal aisle. The buzzing from the lights just hit different that day, and I couldn't move or think for like 10 minutes. Now I only shop between 7 and 8 AM when they keep half the lights dimmed, and I wear my noise canceling earbuds the whole time. Has anyone else found weird workarounds for store lighting?

Wait, they actually dim the lights at 7 AM? That's wild.

Campbell's bar at 134th and Lex does it, yeah. 7 AM sharp every weekday. The whole place goes from bright fluorescent to this weird amber glow like a sunset in a can. I think it's kind of nice actually, helps you ease into the day instead of getting blasted with light first thing. Not everyone wants to feel like they're in a hospital waiting room when they're grabbing their morning coffee...
