Just realized my entire Monday got wasted because the new 'fast-set' filler I tried from the supply house in Springfield cured in 8 minutes flat.
Had to grind out and redo the entire quarter panel on a 2018 F-150 after the stuff turned to rock before I could even block it, so what's your absolute most reliable brand for a normal working time in a hot shop?

That "cured in 8 minutes flat" is a special kind of panic. In a hot shop, I've had good luck just mixing my normal filler with a slower hardener from a different brand. I keep a tube of the Evercoat or USC slow hardener on hand for days over 85 degrees. It adds a few bucks to the job, but it lets you use the filler you already trust without it going off in the pot. Lets you get it spread and shaped before it turns into a brick.

Hold up, that's actually a bit risky. Mixing brands of filler and hardener can mess with the cure. The resin in one brand might not react right with another brand's hardener. It might seem fine but then not get fully hard or stick right. You're better off just buying the slow hardener made by the same company as your filler.

Yeah, that "cured in 8 minutes flat" sounds like a nightmare. I saw a forum post that basically said what @alicelopez did, just get a separate slow hardener for your go-to filler when it's hot.
