At my hangar, they're pushing to replace all manual multimeter checks with tablet apps.

I disagree because feeling the circuit with your hands can tell you things a screen never will...

Exactly, vibration and heat tell their own story too. You might catch a loose connection buzzing under your fingertips way before an app flags a voltage drop. Some things just need that physical touch to really understand what's going on.

Noticed this with my old car last week. The engine sounded fine, but the whole seat had this weird hum @emmawest would have felt it. Turns out a mount was shot, something you'd never hear over the radio. Makes you wonder what else we're missing by just looking at screens.
