Hot take: old 9-speed parts are more reliable than new 12-speed groupsets

Modern 12-speed works fine if you actually maintain it properly.

Changed my mind about that Russian river report last week

Wait, aren't those heat maps easily faked though, and satellite images are just showing seasonal changes from different satellite passes?

Claude 3.5 just crushed my coding benchmark in 30 seconds flat

Ngl, I had a totally different experience with the June 21 update. I threw a 30 page legal contract at it for clause extraction and it missed 3 major sections. Output speed was fine but accuracy took a hit compared to the previous version. Honestly, GPT-4 still handles my multi-step coding tasks better without losing track of the original requirements.

Found an AI trick for detecting bad data early, but is it still too risky?

This is spot on. Saw our shop vacuum pass over a nail three times before I just grabbed it myself.

My post about fixing a broken AC got deleted from a HVAC forum for 'promoting dangerous methods'

Jump right into the sarcasm here. Yeah, god forbid someone tries to save their own AC unit with a jumper wire instead of spending $200 on a service call. Those mods probably think a papercut requires a hazmat suit and a signed waiver. I bet if you posted about changing a lightbulb they'd warn you about the lethal dangers of standing on a chair. The whole point of a DIY forum is to share hacky fixes, not just post glossy photos of your perfectly installed factory parts.
