Serious question, has anyone else wasted money on a 'done-for-you' lead list service?

I spent $1,200 on a list of 500 'qualified' manufacturing VPs last quarter... maybe 10% of the contacts were even current. Has anyone found a reliable source or is building it yourself the only real way?

The Ikea Billy bookcase in my living room says otherwise. Sometimes a pre-made solution just works better for your time and budget. Not everyone needs to be an expert carpenter.
