Warning: I burned $2,400 on a lead list full of dead emails
Six months ago I bought a list of 5,000 contacts from a guy on a B2B forum for $2,400. He promised they were all verified decision makers at mid size companies. First day of cold emails, 61 percent bounced. I checked a sample by hand and found a bunch of info@ addresses and a few that belonged to a pizza place in Des Moines. Turns out the list was scraped in 2019 and never cleaned. How are you all vetting lead sources before you hand over money? I would love to hear what actually works.
