Followed a creek instead of the trail and stumbled upon an abandoned campsite.
Got lost following a creek and found an old campsite, makes me think there are more secrets out there.

Found an actual mug and some old cans just sitting there? That's crazy they didn't pack that out! Gives me the creeps imagining who left it or why they just walked away. Makes you wonder what else is hidden off the main paths. Stuff like that is so wild to stumble across!

Man, your post @barbara_kim61 really hits home... I used to get super angry about people leaving trash, just pure mad. But finding stuff like that now, a single mug or a can way off trail, makes me more sad than anything. It's like a tiny story just ended there, you know? Makes the whole woods feel different, kinda heavy.

Reading about that stuff always reminds me of a book I read on "leave no trace" camping. The author talked about finding old fire rings and tin cans from like, the 1950s, and how they're basically history now (even if it's messy history). It's weird how something that was just litter back then turns into this little time capsule. Makes you wonder if our own stuff will just sit there for decades too, which is a pretty good reason to pack everything out now.
