That bakery in Portland left me furious over cookie pricing
I walked into this small shop in Portland called Sweet Crumb last Saturday and saw a single chocolate chip cookie for $7.50. For ONE cookie. The owner said it's because they use "artisanal butter" and "hand-harvested vanilla" but come on. I could bake a dozen better cookies at home for less than that. Has anyone else seen this kind of price gouging at bakeries pretending to be fancy?

Seven fifty is definitely steep for a single cookie, but just a heads up, a pack of good quality chips can run you like $5 or more these days too. Still way cheaper than $7.50 though, no argument there. Some of those fancy bakeries charge that much just to cover their rent in a spot like Portland, not always just for the ingredients. I've had decent cookies from Sweet Crumb before but I wouldn't pay that much for one unless it was the size of my head.

Seven fifty for a single cookie? That is completely insane. You could buy a whole pack of good chips and make a batch for that price. Portland has some wild pricing lately but that one takes the cake.
