Got written up at my warehouse job in Newark for saying 'guys' to a mixed crew, and I honestly had no clue it bugged anyone

Getting written up over the word guys seems really harsh, especially if nobody ever told you it bothered them. I get why you're thrown off. At my old job we had a crew of about ten people and the boss said guys all the time, nobody said a word. But I can see how someone might not love it, and a simple heads up would have been way better than going straight to a write up. That feels like they skipped a step on you. Hang in there, you didn't mean any harm.
